Included with the knife is the Kai Diamond and Ceramic Retractable Sharpener, which sharpens blades swiftly and effortlessly through a straightforward three-step process. Begin by pulling the knife through the first slot for coarse sharpening, then refine the edge by using the second slot, and finally, complete the process by pulling it through the third slot. This sharpener is suitable for both left- and right-handed individuals and is pre-set at a 16-degree angle, perfect for sharpening any Kai straight-edged or double-bevel blade. However, it is not compatible with serrated, single-bevel, ceramic, or titanium blades, blades with nicks or chips, or blade stocks wider than 3.5mm.
